American heart challenge

The physical education department is raising money for the American Heart Association to help find more cures for heart disease and educate students on how to prevent heart disease. All donations are due February 14th, and our "Red Out" event is March 20th. If students raise $50 or more, they can pie a teacher in the face! For every $10 students raise, they get a t-shirt. T-shirt sizes should be put right on the envelope that will be handed out in Homebase on January 27th or go to www.heart.org/ahc to make an online donation. Please help us reach our goal of raising $1,000 for this great cause!

i Ready Assessment Details

We are excited to share that our school district  is implementing a math and reading assessment program for grades 3-8 called i-Ready. Below, you will find information on the program and how we will be using it in the classroom. i-Ready will support full implementation of our district adopted curriculum resources in math and literacy.

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready is an online assessment platform that will help us determine your child’s needs, personalize his or her learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows us to meet your child exactly where he or she is and provides data for us to increase your child’s learning gains.

The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your child’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on his or her answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your child a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your child’s learning in the classroom.

When will my child take the  i-Ready assessment?
We will do this assessment three times per year so that teachers can use the student learning information to adjust instruction for your child.
